Absolutely Clear...

Don't surrender your loneliness so quickly, Let it cut more deeply.
Let it ferment and season you. As few human or divine ingredients can.
Something missing in my heart tonight, has made my eyes so soft, my voice so tender.
My need of God absolutely clear.
Don't surrender your loneliness so quickly.

You know, even people who don't like onions or garlic, often say the house smells wonderful when you are sauteeing a little of the onion and garlic in some olive oil in a pan.

Perhaps seasoning and sauteeing make our trials easier to bear as well. They don't taste good on their own, but if we let God, who pressed Himself in the Garden of Gethsemane (an olive garden and therefore the essence of pressed olives was all around Him)to sautee and season our trials, they will fill the house with a sweet smell of victory that only God can bring about.

Pain and trials have a place; but so do enjoyment and sharing among friends.

Absolutely, Tim! Many of us- including me- are more than willing to embrace the good times, but tend to reject the suffering. But I think this too is necessary for our growth. I certainly hope that we will not be in the suffering stage very long though. :o)

I like your last comment too. Pain and suffering (or loneliness) are very subjective to that person's spiritual walk and growth. When I tell people that I had to go through a hellish marriage and divorce to get to the foot of the cross (and be born again), not everyone who hears agrees to the same path of pain to get there. True. Thsoe were my own ingredients to ferment, and a personal journey between me and my my Maker.

Sharon, True- and I am in the frying pan right now!!

Marcel, I think that is exactly why God says not to judge each other. We cannot know what is necessary for one to find salvation.

Brian, I have posted your lovely poem. Thank you so much!! You are welcome to post it on your site also. That was so nice of you!
