Guess What??

No, I'm not pregnant- LOL. I weigh in every Friday and was very happy to discover today that I've lost 2 more pounds for a total of 14 since Jan. YEAH!! 8 more lbs. to go. I have no doubt it's coming off as hard as I am working out, plus the extra classes I've been teaching as a sub. No matter how tough life can be, there is always some bright spot to hold onto.

Found a great quote today- just what I needed:

"It is not my job to remake who I am, but to make the most of who God made me." - Robert Frost

Oh yeah, just call me Helga Fitzenfeldor. HA HA- you crack me up! :o)

I only lifted like that for 2 years- more out of curiousity to see how strong I could get than for competitions sake. I'm a shorty, barely 5'3" and small boned- so no, I'm not like an East German girl, but I was starting to look very much like Marylou Retton the olympic gymnast. I liked feeling strong, but frankly bodybuilding takes too much time, energy and regimen for me to pursue it. Plus, unless you're willing to get up in front of people in a thong and pose, you're really not going to do much with it.

You have a great weekend too!

Ekta, You have a challenge that most of WISH we had. :o) I've found there is beauty in every person, a lid for every pot. Some people like skinny, some like curvy.

Just be the best YOU possible. :o)

EKTA if you want to put on weight for purely asthetic ( to gain some curves ) reasons not athletic ones just eat some ice cream or nutella every night just before bedtime.
Weigh your self ( or better yet check the mirror ) increase calories as needed.
If you want to gain muscle mass, you have to realize you will gain fat with the mass, but you go on a cutting cycle just after a mass cycle so you won't have the weight on for to long. I don't know your athletic background so I may be preaching to an excersize physiology phd and if i am please excuse this litle rant.
One of the absolute best mass builders i have found is called the German Volume Training method. ( google it )It is very intense, but it works wonders for straight muscle growth. It is extremely simple ( you could do it in a home gym ) and it ensures the proper level of intensity without trying.
One thing the program doesn't mention is food. But I have found a foolproof way to bulk and keep the fat accumulation to a minimum. At week 1 figure out your nutritional needs, and macronutrient ratio ( I do good on 50% carbs 30% protien 20% fat when bulking ) then every week add 300 calories. Trust me just like GVT it seems simple but it is EXTREMELY hard.
Do the GVT 3 times at different parts of the year in 6 week cycles, the rest of the year, do cutting cycles or do lower volume lower intensity programs.
Each cycle choose different movements i.e. if you did flat bench for the first cycle do incline bench for the next and dumbell bench for the third.
If you imbark on this journey of pain you cannot do much else, no other athletic activity during the 6 weeks your. This method hits ths CNS very very hard. Any other physical activity ( outside of sex LOL )will confuse and burn out your CNS. Don't worry you can add them back when you go on the cutting cycle, but you will be much stronger.
