Unfortunately, this is often what churches do:

I'm not endorsing one denomination over another here, but this video goes along with my thoughts on the church being a hospital NOT a museum. (see original post below)

Yeah, I know how that goes. The way I grew up if they saw two people of the opposite sex together without a chaperon they would assume you have had sex. And you had to prove otherwise.
No unchapeoned dates no matter how old you were..INSANE.
i saw that commercial somewhere on the internet a long time ago. The commercial is excellent in its delivery of meaning, and message of acceptance.
While I was in fort Wayne, I met this lovely lady at work, our families instantly became friends, and she and her church friends have invited us to their church.I think she said it like a informal "new age" church.
Even thought we couldnt go while we were in Fort Wayn, IN. June 3rd, my wife and I are planning to give them a surprise visit.
Yeah: Royce.
My friends, who are now engaged and not sexually active, got reamed at church one day for being "overly affectionate," causing other singles to "Stumble." By other "singles" they meant a group of weird college boys who wanted my friend to date them instead. They had my friend in tears for days because she and her boyfriend never intended to "stumble" anyone--plus they totally weren't inappropriate. They just happen to be a beautiful, good looking couple. Anyway, they have faced some harsh criticism and warnings from church leaders/members that nearly drove them away from church! Pity.
Abuses go on both in and out of churches, but it is far more damaging when it happens within the church, simply because the church claims to represent God. There is often a mentality of 'protect the church at all costs' no matter if it means lying or hurting someone. However, there is a way to rise above this evil and forgive. That is the path I seek...
The video makes sense
God loves all and rejects none religion does so I reject religion
tanvi,
I dont think I am ill-experienced in life when I say that:
God loves all, and rejects none, and so does his true religion for mankind.
People reject those that oppose them. Organized religion is essentially a group of people. Whenver 'people' start representing God teachings and insist upon that, you will see turmoil. Why?
because people are humans only, and our perfection lies in our imprefections. The word of God, if preserved accurately is perfect and does not suffer from the imperfections of human beings
Religion saves no one. Only a living connection with God can save any of us. Basically, God IS love. When I accept this love, I am then free to love others. If I love my fellow man, I will not wish to harm them...
Religion can be a devastating thing. Many atrocities have been done in the name of religion.
Funny thought though- everyone has a religion. Religion- is also defined as "a code of conduct, the philosophy one lives by." So in a sense, not having a religion is religion. ;o)
I enjoy the feedback!
PS. Brian, you are right- anything IS possible...
people's behavior only represents a manifestation of their understanding of God and His message to mankind.
It does not represent the true message unless, the person happens to be a Prophet or Messenger from God.
